Swire Coca-Cola’s 2024 report reveals substantial progress in its environmental sustainability journey.

The company achieved a 17 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2023, and sourced 43 per cent of its electricity for its core operations from renewable sources.

Swire Coca-Cola rolled out 24,170 next-generation energy-efficient coolers in Vietnam, significantly improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

In the United States, Swire Coca-Cola collaborated with The Coca-Cola Company on three new water replenishment projects that are expected to restore 300 million litres of water annually.

Moreover, the company advanced circular packaging efforts by incorporating 31 per cent recycled aluminium into cans distributed in Asian markets.

Also in the US, efforts to promote healthier choices saw success with low- and no-sugar Coca-Cola products making up 45 per cent of Coca-Cola beverage sales, while 59 per cent of beverages sold in Hong Kong SAR fell into this category.

Swire Coca-Cola also demonstrated a strong commitment to its people and communities. Progress on gender equality included increasing female representation to 26 per cent among strategic leaders and 36 per cent in operational leadership roles.

Globally, employees volunteered over 190,000 hours, averaging more than five hours per person, and the company donated over HK$28 million ($3.7 million) in cash along with more than 264,300 cases of beverages to communities in need.

Bui Khanh Nguyen, vice president of public affairs, communications, and sustainability at Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam, said, “Sustainability continues to be a core value and is fundamental to our business operations. In Vietnam, we have embedded sustainability ownership as a central pillar of our new ten-year strategy, empowering every employee to actively contribute to our ambitious environmental and social goals.”

“Our commitment is not just about reducing our footprint, but also about creating a long-lasting, positive impact on the communities we serve,” Nguyen added.

For over 30 years in Vietnam, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam has remained committed to product innovation that supports sustainable development.

The company continuously enhances its product portfolio to meet the evolving needs of Vietnamese consumers while embedding sustainability throughout the entire product lifecycle.

It is also actively collaborating with industry partners to build a more efficient packaging collection and recycling ecosystem in Vietnam.

As part of its environmental commitment, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam has been transforming its manufacturing operations to become increasingly eco-friendly and is working towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

These efforts align with and contribute to Vietnam’s national agenda for green growth. Beyond environmental goals, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam is deeply invested in long-term community development.

For over a decade, the company has implemented impactful social initiatives, including its flagship EkoCenter, which offers digital skills training, entrepreneurship support, STEAM and AI education for women and children, and environmental awareness courses.

In recognition of its efforts, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam was honoured among the Top 10 Sustainable Development Foreign-Invested Enterprises in Vietnam for 2024-2025 at the prestigious Golden Dragon Awards.

The company was also ranked among the Top 2 Most Sustainable Businesses of 2024 (CSI 100) by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
